Overview:
Improving the Park for All Patrons
FOW works closely with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) to enhance the park and its resources beyond what would be possible through DCR alone.
Examples of what the Friends of Wompatuck do include:
- Creating and maintaining the mobile-friendly park map that is free for all patrons to utilize
- Maintaining over 1400 feet of bridges that can be found in Wompatuck
- Updating the information kiosks in the park
- Clearing South Field so it is a more family friendly place
- Planting flowers and bushes throughout the park
- Cutting back overgrown trails
- Maintaining the integrity of trails
- Installing equestrian friendly bridges
- Support and organize park activities, such as history walks, pow-wows, scouting, horseback riding events, and the yearly
Landmine MTB Classic mountain bike race.
